Steven began his career at National Westminster Bank plc where he worked for 8 years within various departments (including world travel service and customer services) before in 1995 he was transferred to the Documentary Credits Department.To further his knowledge in this field he then moved to British Arab Commercial Bank, London (HSBC member) in 1997 where he worked on both the paying and opening sections of the Documentary Credits Department for two years before leaving in 1999 to move into the steel trading business by joining Uvisco Ltd.
After being at Uvisco Ltd for a year Steven became head of the documentary credits department that was responsible for the preparation, issuance and payment of all documentary credit presentations made to Uvisco Ltd's first class trade finance banks, managing a team of twelve people. The group's annual turnover in international trade was in excess of $400 million.
In 2001 Steven joined Coresteel A.G. (formerly BelSteel Management Ltd) where he again became head of the documentary credits department however he was also able to broaden his role and become involved further up the company's supply chain, in particular monitoring production of the material, it's delivery to port, plus arranging for shipping and insurance.
He joined Global Trade Solutions Ltd full time in 2003.
